Adolescent girls in lower income countries are usually victims of rape, violence, pregnancy, HIV, bad health, and much more. The ages of these adolescent girls range from the ages between 10 years to 19 years old. These girls are usually married before they even reach the age of 18. The men they marry, are much older than the girls. They get pregnant when they are young, and have no idea how to tend to their newborn baby. The newborn baby usually does not make it passed the age of one. The girls also get an STD from their own husband.
The Coalition for adolescent girls would like to help these adolescent girls become more educated about different areas in life such as, their school level of education, health education, and etc. They would like to achieve the highest they can with them. This foundation would like to make finishing secondary school, a girl’s first and main priority. Preventing more girls from getting affected by HIV is also a high priority. This foundation tries to help these adolescent girls prepare for the future. The future they try to help them prepare for, is them possibly going to school, knowing and becoming aware about sexually transmitted diseases, becoming a mother, and nourishing their baby.
In most of these countries women are not equal to men. The men basically over power these women when it comes to jobs, education, violence, and so fourth. The men use violence and rape as an act towards women. From these actions, the women are severely hurt, sometimes get pregnant, and get diseases. This program would like to speak for the women, and eliminate all such horrible acts on women, and also eliminate the marriage of girls under the age of 18.
The marriages of young girls in Ethiopia have been dramatically delayed due to, schooling support, vocational training, and safe places. It would cost a dollar per day for programs and policies like, community and school based efforts, interventions, and health services in low-income countries. For health services to work for girls in the Kiber clinic, they must show consideration and classified services, and be suitable. In developing countries, most receive demand-side financing. Demand- financing pays patience for HIV, TB, and to receiving health services. This organization was united with 30 international organizations. The Coalition for adolescent girls was founded in 2005 by, Nike foundation, and by the United Nations foundation.

wow, I really like what this organization does for adolescents girls. I didnt think that men actually use rape and violence to take control of a relationship. I find it really sad since.... well I would've thought that things just like this don't happen anymore. Im glad that the US have helped. I hope that in the future, this organization will stop the pain that yhese girls get
ReplyDeleteThis is a very good organization, trying to help adolescents be more aware of sex, making sure they have some education in their lives. But in some countries this is very hard to do because some still have arranged marriages and some have women taken from their homes. They are taken by their future "husband" yet this man does not treat her like a real wife. They get infected with HIV as you said and then there is nothing they can do about it. We are in the 21st century and yet we still have women that are raped, sexually abused and get pregnant at such a young age with nobody to help them. This is a very strong and bad issue that must be dealed with in order to prevent such bad things happening to women.
